Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and creative individual to design and develop online Insurance products for our Insurance product suite. The ideal candidate will combine strong experience in developing J2EE solutions with a deep understanding of common open source frameworks (such as Struts and Spring), and a strong understanding of programming algorithms and protocols. Ideal candidates will also have experience with personalization of the user experience, including co-branding and internationalization.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, testers and stakeholders across the organization to design, develop and document product features.
• Exhibit a deep understanding of Java including knowledge of Open source frameworks, Servlets, XML parsing and manipulation, HTML, XSLT, ExtJS, Web services messaging, thread management, application server clustering, session management and resource caching.
• Hands-on experience in Software product design in Insurance domainand Programming Software Web components.
• Demonstrated experience developing and customizing Struts application framework is required. Candidates must be able to break down detailed components of the Struts framework and determine ways to override and extend existing Struts functionality. Deep knowledge of Struts controller mechanism, internationalization, reflection techniques and caching must be exhibited.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of localization including details of Java's Locale, resource bundles and techniques for developing within a multi-lingual application environment.
• Experience developing content management or other site administration consoles is a definite benefit.
• Exhibit proficiency with development tools such as IBM IDE, Websphere, and relational databases, such as Oracle. Candidate must be proficient in configuring a standard J2EE application container and must be able to quickly familiarize themselves with the application environment.
• Thoroughly develop, review and test code to ensure proper performance. Candidates must be comfortable providing unit tests and documentation with each solution. Experience working in high-volume user environments where scalability is a primary concern.
• Review and give feedback of business specifications. Interact with business and testing teams to ensure that the product developed meets defined requirements. Ensure that the product is thoroughly tested by developing unit and functional tests and creation of test scripts.
• Finished product(s) must meet internal standards for development and must be well documented. Must design and document within established organizational methodology standards.
• Design and develop solutions that incorporate industry best practices for internet application design, usability, and data security.
• Candidate must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to discuss business requirements and articulate complex technical concepts in simple terms is an absolute necessity.
• Candidate must be willing to travel extensively.
